TL;DR
- Roadlet's core features are free; Roadlet Plus is an optional subscription.
- Never use your phone in a way that distracts you while driving or riding.
- Crash Check is a helper, not an emergency service.
- You own what you post; you give us permission to store and show it to the people you share it with.
These terms are an agreement between you and Roadlet, operated by Nicolás Frugoni, for the use of the Roadlet app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use Roadlet.
01The Service
Roadlet lets you record trips, log stops, plan with a crew, share live positions in Convoy, split expenses, create recaps and discover places from anonymous Spots. The core features are free, and some extra features are available with a Roadlet Plus subscription (see below). We may add, change or remove features over time, and the price and terms of any paid feature are always shown clearly before you buy.
02Your account
You sign in with Apple or Google and are responsible for activity on your account. You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 in the European Economic Area and other places where local law sets a higher age. Keep your sign-in method secure and tell us if you think your account has been misused.
03Roadlet Plus subscriptions
Roadlet's core features — recording, stop detection, stops with photos and costs, planning with your crew, basic Convoy, export and a basic recap — are free. Roadlet Plus is an optional subscription that unlocks extra features, such as additional recap templates, HD replay without watermark, Convoy for bigger crews, Crash Check and advanced stats. The features included are described in the app before you subscribe.
- Billing through Apple. Roadlet Plus is sold as an auto-renewing subscription through the App Store, monthly or yearly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase. The price is shown in the app in your local currency before you buy and may vary by country.
- Automatic renewal. Your subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Free trial. If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Each Apple ID can only use the trial once.
- Managing and cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings (on iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions). If you cancel, you keep Plus until the end of the period you have paid for. Deleting the app or your Roadlet account does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds. Payments are processed by Apple, so refund requests are handled by Apple under its policies at reportaproblem.apple.com. This does not affect your statutory rights, including any right of withdrawal you have under consumer law.
- Price changes. We may change the price of Roadlet Plus. Apple will notify you in advance, and where the law or Apple's rules require it, you will be asked to agree before a price increase applies to your subscription.
- Family Sharing. Roadlet Plus is not guaranteed to be available through Apple Family Sharing, and Plus features are tied to the Roadlet account that subscribed.
- When Plus ends. Your trips and data stay yours. Features that need Plus stop being available, but nothing you recorded is deleted.
04Safety first
- Don't use the app while driving or riding. Set up your trip before you leave, let Roadlet record in the background and log stops when you are safely stopped — or let a passenger do it. Always obey traffic laws and road conditions.
- Crash Check is not an emergency service. It can fail to detect a crash, raise false alarms, or be unable to deliver alerts without coverage or battery. Roadlet never contacts emergency services for you. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
- Information can be wrong. Routes, fuel-range warnings, distances, recommendations and Spots are estimates based on data that may be incomplete or outdated. Check road conditions, opening hours, fuel availability, and local rules for parking and camping yourself.
- Convoy depends on connectivity. Positions and signals can be delayed or not delivered.
05Your content
You keep ownership of the trips, stops, photos, notes and other content you add ("Your Content"). You grant Roadlet a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, process and display Your Content only as needed to operate the Service — for example, to sync it, show it to your crew or to people with a public link you created, and to generate recaps. When your trips contribute to Spots, you also allow us to use the stops involved in anonymous, aggregated form, as described in the Privacy Policy.
Content you add to a trip shared with others becomes part of that trip for its crew. The license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for anonymous aggregated data and copies that other crew members legitimately keep.
06Acceptable use
When using Roadlet you agree not to:
- track or share the location of anyone without their knowledge and consent;
- post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that infringes other people's rights, including photos of people who have not agreed to it;
- send false emergency or Convoy signals, or misuse Crash Check;
- interfere with the Service, try to access data you are not authorized to see, scrape it, or reverse engineer it except where the law allows;
- use Roadlet to promote businesses with fake stops or manipulate Spots.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
07Third-party services
Roadlet links to and relies on services such as Apple Maps, Google Maps, Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, the App Store, RevenueCat, Instagram and Google Firebase. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
08Our rights
The Service, its design, name, logo and software belong to Roadlet and its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own non-commercial purposes in line with these terms and the App Store rules.
09Ending your use
You can stop using Roadlet and delete your account at any time from the app. We may suspend or end access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to stop offering the Service; where reasonable, we will give you notice and time to export your data.
10Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recordings, alerts and data will always be accurate or delivered.
To the extent permitted by law, Roadlet is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, loss of data, or for accidents, injuries, fines or losses arising from driving, riding, camping or relying on information in the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
11Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If changes are significant we will let you know in the app before they take effect. If you continue to use Roadlet after that, the new terms apply.
12Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live. If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of your place of residence.
